Are you passionate about sewing, prop making, wig making, or other crafts and eager to showcase your latest creation? The Handmade category celebrates creativity and costume craftsmanship in cosplay.
To qualify for this category, your cosplay must be at least 80% handmade. Items that are purchased will not be considered handmade unless they have been extensively modified (excluding wigs and shoes). Additionally, the cosplay must be worn by the creator themselves.

A cosplayer has to meet the following requirements:

you must be over the age of 13 to enter.

Cosplays are required to be 70% handmade to participate in the judging,

All costume parts and props must meet the safety requirements as outlined in the Mack PopCons 2024 Cosplay Weapons Policy.

COSTUMES WILL BE EVALUATED ON THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

Presentation of Cosplay: how well the cosplay is constructed/presented

Presentation of Character: do they embody the character visually or behaviorally? Do they engage with the audience/judges?

Complexity: the range and level of skills and techniques used in the cosplay

Creativity: design choices, thoughtful use of materials, ingenuity, personalized embellishments etc.

Skill: what went into creating the costume, materials & equipment used
